The Deputy Inspector-General of Police, DIG Frank Mba, who is the leader of security agencies for the Edo State Gubernatorial election has warned that anyone caught with gun will be treat like a bandit.
Mba, who made this warning on Saturday, while speaking with the press after monitoring the election process in Benin City, promised to use instrumentality of the law to deal decisively with such persons.
Citing the overnight string operation by the Police, where two people were arrested with dangerous weapons, the Police boss said nothing will be spared in ensuring that the Gubernatorial election is violence-free.
Although, he said because the election is a contest, where struggling to grab power is inevitable, Mba urged Edo citizens to go about the election with utmost responsibility to the law of the land.
While thumbing up for the Nigeria Police Force, NPF, and other security agencies, especially the Military for the peace so far recorded in the state, he called for the sustainability of such security services.
The DIG led other top Police officers to Oredo Ward 10, Unit 31, 32, Emakpae Primary school, Sella, Ward 4, Unit 19-28, among others in Benin City, Edo State.
